Pregnancy Stretches for Back Pain

Around 50% of women experience back pain during pregnancy.
Strengthening the core, back and glutes will help prevent back pain, as well as keeping proper posture.

When your hamstring and hip flexor muscles become tight they get shorter and can pull and affect the curvature or your back and spine.
Tight pectorals along with a stiff upper back causes the shoulders to round pulling the body into a poor position. The video above goes through the following stretches, to help ease back pain.

Some stretches/ exercises can be bad for your back, depending on the cause of the back pain. It can cause more damage or injury. I am not a Doctor. Always make sure you check with your health care professional before performing any of these stretches/ exercises.

Stretches:

2.Thread the needle
3.Pelvic Tilts
4.Hip Flexor Runner lunge
5. Figure 4
6.Hamstring Tie reach
7.Wipers
8.Seated hands behind
9. Chest stretch
10.Pigeon Pose
Increase’s flexibility of the hip flexors and lower back muscles while also supporting digestion.
This might be challenging for some, you can roll a towel or place a cushion under  the front hip. You may need to work on mobility more before being able to do this stretch. Happy Baby is a great option.
